If your item shows a fault after some time, please contact info@shapeofsound.co.ukwith a full description of the issue + a photo. We reserve the right to refuse a refund on any items that we do not deem to be faulty.

If your item does not fit as shown or described, please contact info@shapeofsound.co.uk to discuss a re-sizing or to exchange for another size.

Please note that all jewellery is created through the process of lost wax casting. Casting holes (small dips and holes) in the jewellery are a natural part of the process and are unique to each piece. Casting holes are to be embraced and are not in any way a fault in the design. Makers marks and tiny polishing scratches are also not faults and are simply part of the hand made process.

JEWELLERY CARE

Eco - friendly 925 silver jewellery

Sterling silver is marvellously robust. It can last centuries and be worn every day. To keep your silver jewellery looking it's best, we recommend regularly polishing with a microfibre cloth. Over time silver jewellery will darken as patina naturally occurs. We recommend using a silver dip solution should you desire to lighten the silver back to its original shine. Simply read the full instructions on any dip you purchase - we recommend the brand Town Talk, silver sparkle, silver dip, but there are several good brands on the market. When you receive your silver jewellery it will be beautifully polished with no signs of wear. Naturally over time scratches will occur. Each scratch tells your story and only adds to the feel of the piece over time. Should you wish to arrange a professional re-polish, we recommend contacting a local jeweller to request a re-polishing service and to avoid shipping fees. Alternatively, feel free to get in touch with the studio at info@shapeofsound.co.uk to arrange a professional re-polish. There is a small charge + any shipping costs for this service. The charge will depend on the size of the piece. Should we need to remove a pearl or moonstone in order to polish your piece, there may be a small charge to restore the stone or pearl if it is fixed in place (beaded pearls and stones can be removed easily and will not incur a charge). To further preserve the appearance of your silver jewellery it is best to keep your piece away from perfume, body lotions, cleaning products and chlorine.

18k gold plated brass

All gold plated items should be stored in a non humid environment. For those living in hot countries, we recommend storing your jewellery inside a sealed plastic box or bag. Gold plating is ephemeral in nature and will wear over time. To preserve your plated jewellery it is best to keep your piece away from perfume, body lotions, cleaning products and chlorine and to take particular care to remove rings when washing your hands. All pieces should be removed when swimming, exercising or showering. Gold plated pieces are cast in brass which can last for centuries. Should your gold plating wear thin, we encourage you to continue the life of your piece by either contacting a local jeweller to request a re-plating service or to get in touch with the studio at info@shapeofsound.co.uk We can arrange for your items to be re-polished and re-plated. This will incur a small charge for the polish (dependant on the size of the piece) + all shipping costs (incl. Shipping to and from the platers). Gold plating will be charged at cost. Should we need to remove a pearl or moonstone in order to polish + re-plate your piece, there may be a small charge to restore the stone or pearl if it is fixed in place (beaded pearls and stones can be removed easily and will not incur a charge). When you receive your gold plated jewellery it will be beautifully polished with no signs of wear. Naturally over time scratches will occur. Each scratch tells your story and only adds to the feel of the piece over time.

SUSTAINABILITY

At Shape of Sound we are constantly striving to improve our operation in terms of labour rights and ecological impact. Our production involves only UK-based craftspeople, our employees are paid above London living wage and our designs are cast and plated in the UK. This ensures a local focus to our operation and cuts down on emissions through transportation. With that in mind we do also offer a carbon neutral shipping option at checkout. Of key importance – for a jewellery business – is the sustainability of the metals: both our silver and gold are 100% recycled and our platers source their gold along an accredited Chain of Custody (Responsible Jewellery Council), that follows OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict Affected and High-Risk Areas.
